








Dr. Tom LaFontaine is originally from Fort Wayne, IN. He received his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Missouri in 1983. He helped to found the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at Boone Hospital where he served for 22 years. Upon retiring from this position in 2003, he pursued his own personal health consulting business, PREVENT Consulting Services, LLC. Dr. LaFontaine has been involved in numerous community grants and projects including co-founder of the Mayor`s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Fitness Coordinator for the PedNet Organization, and other organizations that promote health and disease prevention through lifestyle modification. Dr. LaFontaine has authored and co-authored numerous publications in the health and wellness field of research and is recognized by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Dr. LaFontaine is also an adjunct professor in the Nutrition and Exerise Physiology Department at The University of Missouri.
